Use Connect from your AI

Paste the MCP server address into your AI, sign in with Google and choose the numbers. Two minutes, then ask for what you need in your own words.

Before you start

Before you start: a WAIA Connect account (the trial is enough) and, for Claude or ChatGPT, sign in with the same Google as your account. In the dashboard, «AI connections» must be on (the owner turns it on). For the AI to make changes, sign in as the owner or an admin.

Step by step, by AI

  1. Claude: claude.ai › Settings › Connectors › «Add custom connector»: name «WAIA Connect» and the address. Connect, sign in with Google and choose the numbers.
  2. ChatGPT: chatgpt.com › Settings › Apps › Advanced › developer mode › «Create app»: name, the address and OAuth. Sign in with Google and choose the numbers.
  3. Cursor: Settings › Tools & MCP › New MCP Server, and in the file: {"mcpServers":{"waia-connect":{"url":"https://api.waiaconnect.com/mcp/admin"}}}. «Connect» and sign in with Google.
  4. VS Code: «MCP: Open User Configuration» and: {"servers":{"waia-connect":{"type":"http","url":"https://api.waiaconnect.com/mcp/admin"}}}. «Start» and sign in with Google.
  5. Others (Gemini, Lovable, Bolt, Windsurf, a terminal): Create an MCP token in the dashboard (AI connections › MCP token) and add the server with the address and the header Authorization: Bearer wcm_….

Things to ask first

  • «Why is my webhook failing and how do I fix it?»
  • «Create an appointment reminder template in English and submit it for approval.»
  • «Write the Node code to reply to the messages that reach my webhook.»
  • «Create a webhook to my server, test it and tell me if it arrived.»
  • «How many messages can my new number send today?»

How it makes a change

Every change has two steps: your AI prepares it and shows you what it will do, and only applies it when you say yes (the confirmation expires after 5 minutes). Changes are confirmed by the owner or an admin; with a member role, the AI only looks. There are daily caps (for example, 10 test messages), and the new API key is never given to the AI: you see it once in the dashboard.

If something doesn't work

  • «I can't see my numbers»: you chose some when signing in; disconnect the AI in the dashboard and connect it again choosing all of them.
  • «It won't let me create or change anything»: changes are confirmed by the owner or an admin; with a member role, the AI only looks. If more than 5 minutes went by, the confirmation expired: ask it to prepare it again.
  • «The test message doesn't go out»: it only goes to your own numbers or to the test phones you add in the dashboard (AI connections › Test phones), up to 10 a day.
  • «Where's the new key?»: the new API key (or a webhook's secret) is never given to the AI: you see it once in the dashboard, under AI connections.
  • To connect the number: you do that in the dashboard, with the «Connect number» button. Then the AI can help with everything else.
